Customer Reviews for Blue Sky Custom Improvement

Blue Sky has been sued at least twice in Oakwood for failing to finish/poor work. In both cases, the court ruled against Blue Sky and to this point the owner has refused to pay either judgment.
It appears that his standard procedure, is to require a large deposit. He will then start the work and basically abandon the project. Showing up occasionally to "take measurements" or "have a look" at something without completing any work.
The owner of Blue Sky told us that the work would take 4-5 weeks to complete a remodel of our master bathroom and assured us that he could complete the work before the due date for the birth of our daughter in August, 2014. After delaying the start of the project until August, he demolished our bathroom approximately 3 weeks before our due date, still assuring us that the work could be completed before the arrival of the baby. Following the demolition, Mr Potter, the sole proprietor of Blue Sky, began to make excuses as to why he couldn’t continue to make progress on the project, and did no more work between the demolition and the birth of our child two and a half weeks later, leaving us without the use of our bathroom.
As Blue Sky continued to make excuses and failed to make any progress on the remodel, we were forced to begin hiring and paying the subcontractors, such as the plumber, ourselves. We filed a BBB complaint about the lack of progress on the project on 12 November in an attempt to incentivize Mr Potter to complete the work. However, he continued to make negligible progress into January, not even showing up for a period of approximately three weeks. At that point, we told him that we would allow him two more weeks to finish the project or we would take legal action, after which Mr. Potter never returned. We offered to pay Blue Sky for the work he had completed to that point, even though much of it had to be redone due to poor workmanship, if he would return the remainder of our deposit, however he refused so we filed a lawsuit against him in an attempt to get our deposit back.
In short, we were left without the use of our Master Bath more than seven months for a project that Blue Sky claimed would take 4-5 weeks and at the point when Mr Potter walked away from the project, by his own admission, less than half the work had been completed.
