Founded in 1896 for the purpose of eliminating poverty and encouraging self-sufficiency, Family Services was the first social welfare agency, first child welfare agency, first to provide support to homeless and the first job training center in the region. Each year Family Services serves hundreds of children, teens, adults, seniors and families through counseling, case management, comprehensive services for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, teen parenting education and pregnancy prevention, home-based senior counseling, specialized counseling and support for victims of crime, parenting education, anger management, batterer’s intervention, and neighborhood and community organizing.

How long have you been in business?
Established in 1896, Family Services is one of the oldest non-profit social service agencies in Montgomery County, with almost every other social and human service agency developing from our rich history.

Family Services provides counseling, education, community building and advocacy to support the unique individuals, families and communities of the Miami Valley.

How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Family Services continues to be at the forefront of developing programs that support and sustain individuals, families and communities; creating services that respond to the needs identified by our clients. Family Services is accredited by the Council on Accreditation and certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health. We are members of the National Alliance for Children and Families, and the Alliance of Ohio Community Centers for the Deaf. We provide a domestic violence intervention program called Families Safe Together that combines several of our highly effective services to create a unique continuum of care for families experiencing domestic violence, where the victim has chosen to remain in contact with the batterer. No other agency provides this type of services for victims and their families. Community Services for the Deaf, a program of Family Services is an identified Ohio Community Center for the Deaf (CCD), and is licensed to provide mental health services for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Unless otherwise indicated, services are delivered from the main office location at 2211 Arbor Blvd. We also provide walk-in services for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing from two additional locations: American Red Cross building in Greenville, Darke County; and the American Red Cross building in Troy, Miami County. Services are also available through home and community-based visitation, as necessary.

We are located off of I75 in Moraine, Ohio. Take the Dryden Road exit and proceed left toward Arbor Blvd. Turn left on to Arbor Blvd, we are the first building on the right past the hotel parking lot. We are accessible by public transportation, with a bus stop within one block of the office.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept most Medicaid and Medicare cards, and some private insurance, and self-pay for services; utilizing a very generous sliding scale fee to support access to services.
Which areas do you service?
We provide individual, couples and family counseling services; drug/addiction assessment and treatment services; group support; domestic violence intervention services; anger management groups; parenting education; counseling for special populations, including Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, victims of crime and seniors; interpreting and c-print captioning services, and community/neighborhood development.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
We are governed by a self-appointed Board of Directors, with day to day operations managed by our Executive Director.

Hours of operation: Monday and Friday, 8:30AM - 5:00PM; Tuesday thru Thursday, 8:30AM - 8:00PM; other evening and weekend appointments available upon request.
